I stayed up until two last night watching Yentl, a movie I could have perhaps taken more seriously if they hadn't let Barbara Streisand sing so often. Normally, I'm delighted to find that movies I'm watching are actually musicals (such as the musical version of Huckleberry Finn, which is so terrible that I love it with all my heart), but I also have a weird vendetta against the Streisand.

Yet, Mandy Patinkin as a Jewish schoolboy makes up for everything. And is also too hot for coherent words, and the movie could only have been improved if there had been more naked, vaguely homoerotic swimming scenes. Trufax.
